Fire science teacher charged with sexual assault of student

The Chicago Tribune reports,

A firefighting instructor is under arrest on charges that he had a sexual relationship with a student he was teaching in a fire science class, Kane County prosecutors said Thursday.

Glen C. Baum, 42, of Oswego, appeared in court Thursday on charges of criminal sexual assault and two counts of child pornography. His bail was set at $250,000, prosecutors said.

Authorities allege that between May and January, Baum maintained a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old.
